Generally, a Westi is trimmed by hand, nevertheless there are cases where the coat is shorn.

  • Trimming approx. 4 times a year by hand
  • Sportive shearing for everyday life: 2 - 4 times a year

Recommended length of clipping head:

Don't let a Westi get matted, regular brushing or combing approx. every 2 days prevents this, in addition, loose hair and undercoat are removed immediately. If hand trimming is not possible, we recommend the following clipping head lengths:
